Art Therapy & CRM
We are excited to integrate a cutting edge method of body based trauma treatment, the Comprehensive Resource Model, developed by Lisa Schwartz, M.Ed. (CRM Basic Training, February 2016, CRM Intensive, September 2016). The method utilizes multi-modal resourcing, allowing clients to release and transform attachment rifts which can occur at any age, and are the basis of trauma, simultaneously providing stabilization, trauma processing, and integration while feeling grounded, centered, and safe.
CRM is a gentle treatment that calms the central nervous system and allows one to work underneath memory in a sense, as if working directly with the "mainframe", versus the "desktop" of many therapy models. It builds one's relationship with the self, strengthening intuition and knowing.
Art Therapy is a natural addition to assist in CRM integration of resources, and new truth work between CRM sessions. Many Art Therapy techniques are useful in helping to ground, self soothe and reinforce positive change. Intuitive art making builds on the groundwork of CRM.
Deanna Miesch, Merri Isom and Anita Stoll all incorporate CRM training into their psychotherapy practices. Please reach out to them individually if you have questions or are interested in working with this model.
In October of 2016, Deanna Miesch and Anita Stoll offered a workshop for area professionals in an effort to introduce the CRM model and in preparation for Lisa Schwarz's Basic training in January of 2017:
